Race Rules

Backyard format

1. All runners start each yard together at the official signal.
2. Each runner must complete the official loop within one hour.
3. A runner who is not in the start corral for the next start is eliminated.
4. No late starts are permitted.
5. Except where organizers explicitly allow it, personal assistance is only permitted inside the designated basecamp area between yards.
6. The event continues until one runner completes one additional yard after all other runners have stopped.
7. If no runner completes a final yard alone, there is no winner.

Organizers may publish additional safety, mandatory-equipment and route rules before race day. Those instructions form part of the event rules.
